Hannah is an acupuncturist and a member of the British Acupuncture Council. She is also a qualified cosmetic acupuncturist. She is trained in Traditional Chinese Medicine and Five Element acupuncture.
Acupuncture can help muscle aches and pains, headaches, pain, digestion and many other symptoms. Treatment is aimed at the whole person - not just the presenting signs and symptoms - as Chinese Medicine recognises that the body is one unit, so an imbalance anywhere within it will affect the whole. Hannah has a keen interest in natural medicine and using the body’s own energy to heal itself by correcting imbalances within.
Hannah will talk about all aspects of your life - things such as certain foods and environments can have big impacts on an individual's health and Chinese Medicine can help one see why these things may worsen your symptoms - or even be the root of the problem. In addition to acupuncture, which uses tiny needles on selected acupuncture points to stimulate the flow of energy in the body treatment can include:
Cupping - used for injury, pain or viral infections. It involves using suction cups to stimulate acupuncture points or to access the underlying fascia and muscles in order to move fluids that may be stuck - a favourite of those with stiffness, pain and muscle injury.
Guasha, which translates as scraping - uses a round-edged tool traditionally made from jade. Pressure is applied in long strokes along the skin, aiming to break down stagnation. It helps to relieve pain and tension in the muscle and fascia and increase blood flow to the area to promote healing.
All treatments £45 per hour (10% discount for NHS, students, unemployed/low-waged, teachers, charity workers and anyone in the caring profession).
